Where is my data stored - can anyone else access it?

All of the app data is stored on your local device and, in the case of Clever Contacts or P&F Charts, in your own personal Apple iCloud account.  It is not shared with the developer or available to anyone else.  Only those that have access to your devices have access to your data.
See below for additional information regarding data storage for particular apps.

Clever Contacts

All the contact related information (name, address, phone numbers, emails, contact photo etc) in Clever Contacts is actually saved in and read from your Contacts App on the device.  Membership in groups (e.g. Family), notes, photos associated with notes and other settings data is maintained by Clever Contacts in separate files. These will either be only on your local device or in your iCloud account depending on which storage option you have chosen in the Clever Contacts “Settings” screen.

Clever Net Worth

If multiple people have access to your iPhone or iPad you can protect your data from prying eyes using a password, Face ID or Touch ID - go to the “Settings & Support” screen.

P&F Charts

The app stores the following types of information:

  • app wide data such as the version number and your chosen chart colour palette
  • the names of all your watchlists and which stocks are within them
  • the details of all your stocks including the charting parameters for that stock and which indicator to show
  • the prices for each stock

All of the above (except for the price data which is always stored on the local device) can be stored on either your personal iCloud account or your local device.  The default option is to use your iCloud account unless you are not logged into iCloud when the app starts.

P&F Charts - Where does the Stock Data come from?

P&F Charts sources all of its stock data from the Alpha Vantage service.  This is an amazing service which provides a huge range of daily stock prices for stocks, indices and currencies from all over the world.  See their website for further information.  It is also important to remember that AlphaVantage update the daily prices sometime after the close of trading for a specific stock.  If you want intraday data, try using an intraday interval (e.g. hourly).  You can change this on the Parameters screen for a specific stock in your watchlists. However, it sometimes (not very often) inexplicably drops a particular stock for some period of time.  The search will say they support it (and probably did until yesterday) but will report no data available when asked for the latest prices.  Unfortunately this is completely out of our control and Alpha Vantage unfortunately does not have a support capability that can answer questions about particular stock price availability.  If this happe

P&F Charts - Date Formats, Time Zones and Daily Updates

P&F Charts is used by people all over the world to analyse stocks, foreign currencies and crypto/digital currencies from exchanges in a wide range of international time zones. This can create some confusion when trying to understand when a stock's prices were last updated by the data supplier. To help with this understanding, P&F Charts does the following with dates and times: All price data is stored and displayed in the time zone and format as supplied by AlphaVantage (the data provider).  This is usually the timezone of the stock's exchange. The app provides information (accessible via the 'Parameters' screen) about that Stocks exchange/region, time zone, currency and market opening and closing times. Prior to v2.0, the app converted dates and times to your local time zone but this was creating occasional confusion as to when a stock's data should have been updated.  Please also remember that AlphaVantage updates daily data after the close of trading fo
